"I really enjoyed the traditional and warming breakfast here. They cooked everything to perfection and served it up piping hot so quickly i'd hardly had time to take in half the art decorating the beautiful, clean and relaxed interior. Gladly too, i didn't have to look at any sullen faces or listen to little sighs as with a menu offering a variety of modern, traditional and sweet options all four of us were happily full before setting out on foot to explore the miles of rolling countryside and rugged coast surround the venue. We'd come across the GuardHouse cafe as they are open till late Saturdays, and the night before our breakfasts there we'd spent camping a stones throw in the Bunkers pitch at the adjoined MakerHeights site and watched a huge yellow Moon rise over the Sea. The temperature had dropped off under the clear June skies, and just enough that i had been thinking about a mug of hot tea when we came across this bistro cafe. Its fair to say the cool night made the already exceptionally good hot chocolates they'd prepared us all the more comforting than i could have anticipated as we sat together back at the tent chatting in our sleeping bags. We all felt more than a little regret having only the one night to be there but as i glimpsed some mention of fine dining events to be held, i might try sneaking back for another moonlit bay and another delicious excuse to walk for hours. The prices were less than i would have paid in many high street chains and the food was prepared with style and care. The owners and staff were polite and helpful. If you've just walked up the hill from the Cremyll foot ferry i recommend stopping in for a meal before taking on the next two or three hills."

"What a delightful cafe at Maker. We had the lush food, Moonshine ribs and Cornish yarg cheese board with excellent coffees. Such a lovely location, lovely staff and a cracking menu. You can't go wrong, plenty of space(mainly outside but indoor tables too, check out the gallery space) all very reasonable and a decent quick service too."

"The Guardhouse has been a wonderful experience over our 3 day stay at Seaforts. Cathy organised 20 of us to have burgers one evening and they absolutely delivered on flavour and great service. We have also enjoyed breakfast and brunch on two days - the cooking is superb and their easy manner makes it a joy. Thank you Guardhouse, we will be back!"
